Bamboo trees

I love bamboo trees but not during the time their leaves are already brown and falling-it is too much work to put it away�. The picture above is the fence dividing us from our neighbor but both of us have bamboos on each side. I have cut on of our bamboo trees but we have actually three and I am finding ways to kill the roots�..help!
